VERB TO DO

                                        VERB TO DO

Do  และ  Does  มีหลักการใช้คือ  ถ้าเป็นกริยาสำคัญหรือกริยาแท้ในประโยคจะมีความหมายว่า  ทำ           ต้องแยกใช้ไปตามประธานของประโยคให้ถูก  เช่น                           He  does  his  homework.
                          They  do  their  homework

เป็นกริยาช่วยในประโยคคำถามและปฏิเสธที่มีกริยาแท้อยู่แล้วในประโยค และประโยคนั้นไม่มี be
     (  is   am  are  ) .ในบริบทของประโยคเช่นนี้  do , does จะไม่มีความหมาย  เป็นเพียงตัวช่วย  เช่น

            He  does  not   have  any  sisters.

            We  do   not  buy  a  big  car.

       Remark : Verb  to  be  ไม่อยู่  เอา  Verb  to  do  เข้ามาช่วย

                        do  not  ใช้รูปย่อเป็น    don’t  / does  not    ใช้รูปย่อเป็น    doesn’t
                                          แยกใช้ไปตามประธานของประโยคดังนี้

            1.  ประธานเป็นเอกพจน์บุรุษที่  3  (  He , She , It ชื่อคนคนเดียว สัตว์ตัวเดียว และสิ่งของอันเดียว                 ที่ถูกกล่าวถึง ) ใช้ Does.

            2.  ประธานเป็นไม่ใช่เอกพจน์บุรุษที่  3  (  I , You  , We , They   ชื่อคนหลายคน  สัตว์หลายตัว                   สิ่งของหลายอย่างที่ถูกกล่าวถึง ) ใช้  Do

                                             แยกใช้ตามตารางต่อไปนี้

 การใช้  Verb  to  do  ในประโยคปฏิเสธ

มีหลักการดังนี้

            1.  Verb to  do  เป็นเพียงกริยาช่วย  ( Helping  Verb ) ไม่ใช่กริยาแท้

            2.  กริยาแท้ของประโยคต้องใช้รูปเดิม  ( Base  form ) จะไม่มีการเติมหรือเปลี่ยนไปเป็นช่องใดทั้งสิ้น นะครับ

            ประโยคบอกเล่า          He  likes  cartoon.

            ประโยคปฏิเสธ            He  doesn’t  like  cartoon.

            ประโยคบอกเล่า          They  play  football.

            ประโยคปฏิเสธ            They  don’t  play  football.
 

การใช้  Verb  to  do  ในประโยคคำถาม  มีดังนี้

             1.  Yes / No  Questions

            1.  ใช้  Verb  to  do  วางหน้าประโยค  ตามด้วยประธานของประโยคและกริยาแท้ของประโยควางเรียง         ต่อมา  ตัวอย่างเช่น

กริยาแท้ใช้  Base  form  ( รูปเดิมที่ไม่ต้องเติมหรือผัน )

            ประโยคบอกเล่า          He  likes  cartoon.

            ประโยคคำถาม            Does  he  like  cartoon ?

            ประโยคบอกเล่า          They  play  football.

            ประโยคคำถาม            Do  they  play  football. ?

            2.  Wh. Questions

1.  ใช้  Verb  to  do  วางข้างหลัง Wh. และหน้าประธานของประโยค  ตามด้วย 

      กริยาแท้ของประโยควางเรียงต่อมา  ตัวอย่างเช่น

            ประโยคคำถาม            What  does   he  want  ?

            ประโยคคำตอบ           He  wants  a  pen.

            ประโยคคำถาม            When  do  you  have  lunch ?

            ประโยคคำตอบ           I  have  lunch  at  12.00.
